Estudi General Lul.lià

Monument

The Estudi General Lul.lià is an educational institution founded in the 15th century that later on, in the 17th century, became the Ramón Llull University of Majorca. After numerous upheavals, the current institution was created in 1951 to promote Majorca's culture and university-level study. At present this institution is a language school and also performs other educational and cultural activities.

The current Regionalist-style building is the outcome of a reconstruction in the 1960s led by the architect Gabriel Alomar. Some Gothic and Renaissance coats of arms and capitals from the original building have been incorporated into the present structure.
